All I can say is that Santorini really does live up to all the hype.
The second stop on our Greek honeymoon, it really is the most picturesque and romantic destination. They say it's the most relaxing island in Greece and the locals recommend that you make no other plans for the day besides a dinner reservation. So, that's exactly what we did.
I read two books and sat at the infinity pool overlooking the Aegean for 5 days straight. Complete and utter bliss.
Here are a few of my biggest take-aways and recommendations from the trip.
Hotel:
Canaves Oia- perfect location, steps away from all the restaurants and town, but secluded enough from the hustle and bustle
Restaurants:
1800- absolutely delicious, eat upstairs at sunset
Ambrosia- ask for outdoor seating, the views are amazing
Roka- an authentic Greek tavern in the heart of town, loved it
Activities:
-The hike from Fira to Oia was definitely worth it (about 2.5 hrs, but not too difficult). It was very fun, but it's best to take a cab into Fira and start the hike back to Oia.
-Sunset catamaran ride around the island. Hands down the most beautiful sunsets in the world!
