As my fiance and I prepare to find and move into our first apartment, the big 'debate' over furniture and decor has already started. We're like 90% in sync about our decor choices, but like any typical couple, he leans a bit more towards the rustic 'man cave' aesthetic and I push for a few more feminine and frilly details. Surprise surprise! That said, we're both proponents of working with a few of the things we've already got and as in most NYC apartments, that involves a bit of IKEA.
Simple, modern, affordable and functional. It's amazing what a little TLC can do to an otherwise simple IKEA piece.
Did you even recognize all these pieces?! Talk about inspiration. Love it.

I will moving into a new apt soon and need new things and was slightly bummed that I will need to be buying somethings from ikea, but this just made me so much more excited to get crafty with their pieces! my old place was 80% ikea and no one had any clue!!! It's all about styling and how you mix in other pieces! We are actually about to get that tulip style table - with some eames style chairs!
