Throughout the process of planning my wedding, I've gone through a few stages of 'obsessing' when it comes to the many different decisions I have to make for the big day. The first stage was the venue, the next big one was the dress, the groom even had a little obsession of his own-- the band. But now I've moved on to the hair.
A few weeks ago I was in Chicago and had an amazing hair trial at Salon Buzz with my bridal hairstylist, Ashley Young. Sticking to the vintage undertones of the wedding, I asked Ashley to create classic, Old Hollywood waves.
While I think she did a fabulous job in execution, I don't think it's the best representation of myself. I've decided I want something a bit softer and romantic so we're back to the drawing board and I need your help!
Which style should I try next?
A soft and wavy updo?
Pretty loose curls?
A romantic bun?
Or simple with a hair piece?
So grateful for this blog and your honest feedback. Do share!
For all you brides out there, how did you decide on your final look?
XOX
I love the look of hair up but I just never wear my hair up so I ended up wearing it down and curled. I felt the most like myself.
ReplyDeletePretty loose curls always look so beautiful in my opinion

I feel like the simple waves or the hairpiece is the best bet! Or if you wear your hair up a lot, than an updo but I agree with Alex!
ReplyDeleteIf you want to feel more like yourself, than pick a style that you would naturally go with, I love the last one with the hair piece! The piece can have a 20s vibe to it to give you that vintage look. :)
ReplyDeletea fun up do would be stunning and something different, it's just a trial after all. Make sure you try on your dress or a dress with a similar neck line after you hair trials, that can make all the difference in the decision. xxoxoxoxLEH
ReplyDelete@apples&onions, such smart advice!! XOXO
ReplyDeleteI agree try it out (the up do if you can). But I think down and wavey! I tried the up do, it turned out horrible, then i just winged it with down big loose curls. It felt like me and I was so comfortable all night!
ReplyDeleteI would *definitely* go with the hairpiece ... I'm a sucker for cool hairpieces! I know someone who can make custom hairpieces, you can check her website here: www.petitplume.com
ReplyDeleteOk..if it doesn't feel like "you", you have to try something else! You definitely want to look like yourself...but on your best day. I wore a hairpiece and LOVED it! And I'm normally do NOT fuss over my hair so it was fun...I just wish I had worn mine down. Maybe try a full on "dress rehearsal". xoxo
