Pumpkin Smoothie

By Julie

If you're anything like me then your heart skips a beat when the Pumpkin Spiced Lattes or the Peppermint Mochas are back on the boards at Starbucks, I'm a sucker for holiday traditions. While tempting, loaded with sugars and syrups, I try not too veer too far off from my classic skim latte. So as an alternative, I decided to try my hand at a new sort of seasonal favorite.

I usually drink green smoothies after my workouts for a health boost and dose of protein, but it's good to switch it up from time to time. This is definitely a bit more decadent, but the perfect fall treat when you're craving a little something sweet.

Healthy Pumpkin Smoothie

Ingredients
 1/2 cup canned pumpkin
3/4 cup Greek yogurt (next time I am going to sub for soy milk)
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp brown sugar
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
3-4 ice cubes

Directions
Combine all ingredients in blender until smooth. Garnish with a dollop of whipped cream and sprinkle with a dash of cinnamon.

Enjoy immediately.

Mmm.
