When I first learned about Milos, my husband and I knew we were going to Greece for our honeymoon, but hadn't quite decided where yet. Then, I saw Sarah Yates' post about her vacation on SMP and officially called off our search.
We also stayed at the Melian Hotel and Spa and highly recommend it. Milos is such a romantic, fun and adventurous island. It really was the most perfect first stop on our Greek honeymoon. Many of the Greek islands aren't really known for their beaches since they are usually rocky and rough, but among Europeans it is known to be one of the most untouched and authentic islands.
Here are some do's and don'ts.
-Do rent a car (and bring a map)!
-Do eat all the fried calamari and fresh fish that you can.
-Do go for a catamaran ride around the island and don't be afraid to jump in and explore the caves.
-Don't mind getting lost. That was the best part!
-Don't mind the steep climb down to the hidden beaches, the view is worth the bumps and bruises.
-Don't try to fool yourself into thinking there's such a thing as 'too much feta'.
-Don't pack heels... you won't wear them, trust me.
Next stop, Santorini!
