Wedding Wednesday: Escort Card DIY

By Julie

Without giving too much away for my guests, I wanted to share a little DIY project I've been putting together this week for my wedding. I usually don't consider myself to be super crafty so the fact that I took this project on this week was was a bit surprising, but I really want both rustic and elegant elements at the wedding and the best way for me to execute that for our escort cards was to do-it-myself.

As guests walk in to the reception area from cocktail hour they will find oversized vintage barn doors hanging their individual table assignments. To complete my country meets Gatsby-inspired look, I went to the Paper Source and bought the following:

Kraft Hang-Tags with Eyelets
Rubber Stamp
Gold Glitter Embossing Powder
Embossing Heat Tool
Stamp Embossing Pad

Directions:

1. After stamping the kraft paper with the sticky pad, the shape of my stamp is then covered with an excess of gold glitter.

2. Once the glitter has taken on the shape of the stamp, the extreme heat from the embossing tool dries the glue and the glitter to a raised and shiny metallic emblem. The heat tool reaches close to 350 degrees and is 4x as hot as a hair-dryer.

Et voila!

I'll be sure to share the final result of how they are displayed after the wedding so stay tuned and keep crafting!
