Barney's Re-Vamped

This weekend my husband and I went to do a little his and hers shopping. I guess I haven't been in Barney's for a while because what used to be my mainstay growing up in the city, was almost unrecognizable! 

The shoe floor and the CO-OP floors have undergone a major makeover and combined with the men's floors of the same categories. The flagship location has always been the most upscale of all the Barney's locations, but this re-vamp leaves the CO-OP noticeably more minimal, sleek, and a bit dark. With grey floors, slate pillars, and steel racks the space feels a bit stark, but definitely beautifully designed. 

There is also a new restaurant on the CO-OP floor called Gene's after the former CEO of Barney's Gene Pressman. The highlight is the communal table fit for 30 or so people comprised of personal touch screens covered in glass so you can order without the help of a waiter. You can even shop at Barneys.com while you snack! 

What do you think of the new look of Bareny's flagship? I especially love the combining of the men's and women's shopping experience. In today's day and age when you don't even have to leave your home to shop, I like that Barney's is getting creative to get your to shed you PJ's and re-enter civilization.
